Blind Faith
Romans 16: 25-27
By Lee Nourse
…but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith…
The apostle Paul wrote the book of Romans with the intention of uniting Jews and Gentiles alike, to the Word of God. The prophetic writings in the Old Testament and the personal accounts of the apostles reveal God’s plan of saving grace towards all peoples in all nations. The account of Jesus’s life and works is repeated over and over throughout the New Testament so that we have a clear understanding of who God is and may become obedient to faith. Faith is the belief in what we cannot see and although we cannot see Jesus at this moment, we can believe that we will see Him face to face because the Bible tells us so.
God commanded the mystery of Jesus prophesied in the Old Testament to end at a particular moment in history and then commanded Paul and others to deliver this message of Jesus Christ to all nations and throughout the world. By believing that Jesus Christ, the Son of God was born to save us from our sins to allow an eternity in heaven with our Father is the pinnacle of salvation by faith. Having that blind faith leads us to the obedience God desires for His children. That obedience manifests itself in how we love God and love others. It is displayed in how we go out and proclaim the Gospel to those who don’t know Him.
When we remember that we are called to the obedience of faith and that this obedience can only come from God, we can fully give our lives to glorifying God through our faith in Jesus Christ. This blind faith allows the grace of Jesus to be with us forever and forever. Are you living obediently with blind faith? If not, I encourage you to read Paul’s letters again.
Father God, help us to live out your Word with the obedience you desire because of our faith in Jesus Christ.
